EPA Attempts to List 40 New Chemicals to the Toxic Substances Control Act
EPA is required to prioritize 20 chemical substances as candidates for designation as High Priority Substances for risk evaluation.
On March 21, 2019 the U.S Environmental Protection Agency otherwise known as the EPA, published a list of 40 new candidate chemicals to be added to the Toxic Substances Control Act or TSCA. Several chemicals listed are used in the manufacturing of paints, coatings, sealants and adhesives.
The EPA will begin the process of risk evaluations by December 22, 2019 to determine what factors may be considered.
The EPA will be seeking information about these chemicals through June 2019.
